CLYM proposes a training course based on the "FIB" tool in Materials Sciences.
This course runs over 5 days for a maximum of 6 students(in order to allow a direct and practical contact with the instrument) aims at the following objectives:
- Acquire the theoretical basis regarding cross-beam FIB/SEM microscopy
- practice of 3D approaches in FIB/SEM (image acquisition and treatment of data, EBSD)
- Tackle the TEM prep
In this summer period, CLYM news are mostly dominated by a serious medical situation justfying a rapid information as provided by the communication message sent today to all INSA staff and reproduced in the present CLYM letter.
The opening of the Ly-EtTEM: Lyon Environmental and tomographic Transmission Electron Microscope (first Cs-corrected environmental instrument installed in France) was held on 25 and 26 november, 2013. the official opening ceremony took place at the CNRS campus in Villeurbanne with the participation of representants of all institutions having financially supported the "CPER" project. On Tuesday 26, an International Workshop on environmental TEM (IWETEM) was organised with scientific contributions form international specialists.
December 2012: Delivery of the second machine, the "METET" (TITAN Etem, FEI) on the mini-campus CNRS Lyon Tech, IRCELYON.
